Re: Kaufmann: Faith of a Heretic
What does it mean to "study theology on its own terms"? Kaufmann actually doesn't accept the definition of theology from Websters nor does he fall back on Gibbon. He dismisses both of them. really? can you quote the bit where he does that? Opps forgot about this. From Page 103 of Kaufmann: Faith of...

I'm not really following this innate idea arguement.Metacrock wrote:The innate idea aspect answers that. The spirituality is tied to the innate idea.
Where are you getting the evidence that universally there is an Innate idea of God?
Is this coming from Newberg's stuff or somewhere else?

Re: Conditions of a valid repentance
I like this sort of thing. Solid, practical rules and guidelines for good living are what makes Eastern religions/traditions a great complement to Christianity, which I think of as focusing on values. Actually that isn't entirely suprising, Mahayana Buddhism is supposedly heavily influenced by Nest...

He's not saying anything is more spiritual than anything else. He is saying that it is easier for "relatively insensitive humans" to perceive that which is beyond the physical through these things that we label ethereal. Like Flowers, crystals and birds etc. No, read him again. He says these things...
