when I was in undergraduate school my Greek prof who was very smart and from yale said that "impacted" was grammatically wrong. I went around for 30 years avoiding sentences like "that was impacted." in an argument with atheist I pointed that out and they began mocking and ridiculing me for saying it. sure enough I can't find any grammatical source that backs it.
anyone know the correct use of that term "impact?"

'The impact of the meteorite left a crater...."
if impact is a noun, then it seems correct to make it a verb, as in "i got ticketed" but what are the subtleties of that rule
i dunno, interesting question, Meta ....

The “One” is the space of the “world” of the tick, but also the “pinch” of the lobster, or that rendezvous in person to confirm online pictures (with a new lover or an old God). This is the machinery operative...as “onto-theology."

all I remember is don't say "I was impacted." He was impacted. He was killed by the impact instead of "he was impacted death wise."

Hmm. I got my degree in English, and I don't remember ever hearing that you couldn't use "impacted" as a passive verb.
Even if it was once considered incorrect, the English language changes all the time. "Parent" never used to be a verb. Now it is. The usage changed, and the dictionary changed with it.
I would suggest checking a dictionary to see if "impact" shows as a passive verb. If it doesn't show it as slang, then it's proper, modern English.
