Hm, probably also talk, but it depends how crazy Assad is and I have no sense of that. Not a nice guy by any means but how downright irrational is he?

What a mess though, with rebels claiming responsibility for some of the damage the officials say was caused by Israel.

Assad never really struck me as crazy so much as ruthlessly devoted to his father's legacy. I don't think he would pick a fight with Israel and I don't think HE will flee, but I bet he will try to send his family out before the end.

Rebels have been worrying me for the past 5 months, I suspect they will start fighting each other once Assad is out. Oh and news from Aleppo. The 20,000 man syrian army there is completely cut off from supplies and is effectively surrounded.

what would it gain Assad to attack Israel? he's already stretched real think fighting the rebels who could he afford to attack a real power?

Not isreal. in this case, the news is that chemical weapons have been used.
