Re: No Longer Quivering/Take Heart Project
Also, Meta, you told me not to assign motives to Kristen, don’t you think that’s a Bit Hypocritical from you given you assigned them to me? Also how do you explain that I am like most Southern Men when most people who meet me don’t think I’m from the South at all and I’ve retained a rather prominent...

Re: No Longer Quivering/Take Heart Project
Oh and if you want to be a KJV Onlyist in this, why not also look at how the words were used in the 1600’s? Is not like the KJV Bible was written in Modern English, and often the words, such as “Multiply thy Sorrows and Conception” would sound very different to the 17th century reader than to today’...

Re: No Longer Quivering/Take Heart Project
Meta- perhaps reread the El Shaddai thread. Your own sources proved me right. El Shaddai means “God of our Strength” or “God of Strength” or “God the Self Sufficient one’ according to the scholars you quoted, none seemed to find it overly feminine. The reason I didn’t bother with continuing is becau...

I’d totally go to that play. It sounds fascinating.

Re: No Longer Quivering/Take Heart Project
Compassion should not exceed evidence, and it is not compassion to leave one to a false conclusion. You may not find my Logic sterling, but you haven’t said anything that would prove my reasoning is at fault. Bare in mind I’m simply challenging the point that Eve was cursed with increased frequency ...

Re: A really stupid arguement
I agree, its a poor argument.
I also dislike how they tend to use the word "Religion" as a Synonym for Theism, as if bign an Atheist means you arenot Rekligious. Peopel do not think, dont know what words mean, and tend to spout gibberish that seems otthem logical which isn't.

Re: No Longer Quivering/Take Heart Project
EVEN the definitions of Sophistry you presented do not say they are always intentionally deceptive arguments, and the word generally means that the argument is designed to sound reasonable but really isn’t. It can conotate intentional deceit, but most often simply conotate the use of an argument to ...

Re: No Longer Quivering/Take Heart Project
Kristen, this is a debate and discussion board. Not everything people say is going to agree with you, and I certainly am not going to simply allow poorly thought out articles just sit here being congratulated. I know that you, and to some extent Metacrock, think this is wholly about me being some so...

Re: Reason and Faith
What’s to explain? I base my Faith on Reason. I believe in Christianity because it makes the most Logical sense to me, and I have seen the benefit to its moral codes, and the Theology seems to be True from my perspective. Therefore, I accept Christianity as True.

Re: No Longer Quivering/Take Heart Project
Also, the Churches of Christ aren’t Post Millennial or Dominionist, and certainly aren’t Evangelical. They also aren’t a Denomination. Much like Catholics, the Churches of Christ simply do not participate in the idea that each Church is a branch of the body of Christ and operate in total Isolation w...
